I think it comes down to what era of Stern you listened to. I like both guys. Artie is a better sidekick and Jackie is a better writer. I wish Howard would fire Benjy and bring back Jackie. Artie and Jackie together would be unstoppable.

@therolloffer I know…the beginning of SIRIUS was pretty exciting but that slowly died off with the insane amount of vacation time and 4 day show week. I guess the money has gone to his head but their is no more hunger to do good radio and he has become way to PC. He use to be relateable to the fans the way he would complain about his wife/life but now when he complains it just comes off bitchy and whiney. I checked out for sure when beth came on to hawk her dog book.

@therolloffer yeah man i agree..it just sucks so bad..if you go back and listen to the old shows and hear what he use to goof on its the exact life he’s living now…plus, this last week of shows about LA and beth’s book and being buddy buddy with celebrites? add on the constant vacations and no working fridays? its getting tough to take…i dunno what happened to him. i really dont.
@bbv001 In my opinion when the show moved to satellite It lost it’s edge. It’s all on a time schedule and borring,Stern has become what he use to goof on. Was a fan since 1985. If not for the music channels on satellite I would have cancelled my subion after the first 6 months.

i agree about hypocracy with howard– “artie’s situation is a private matter” after decades of making fun of other suicides — he divorces and marries a younger model after years of making fun of other old rich guys — he gets plastic surgery after years of … well you get the picture. i miss the old days

the thing about the show now compared to the Jackie days are this. Everyone on the show, Howard,Fred,Robin, Gary etc goofed on Jackie like this bit rght here. They dont do that anymore, its like Artie is off limits or they just dont have that type of report to do it. Also Howard used to goof, talk about his home life with hi ex wife Alison , goofing on how bad things were at home and such. Now he never says a bad word about Beth, always talking how much he loves her etc.
